Kiel was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He attended law school at Florida State University where he graduated with a Certificate in Business Law. 

 

Kiel has had a diverse career in politics and business. After graduating from law school, Kiel moved to South Florida to serve on the legislative team of a Miami-Dade County Commissioner and has lived in South Florida ever since. In addition to his legislative work with Miami-Dade County, his political work included time in the General Counsel's Office for the Florida House of Representatives, the Executive Office of the Governor, a prominent lobbying firm, and as the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

After his political career, he served as in-house counsel for a private behavioral health group in Miami, and then as Managing Director/Chief Legal Officer for the US branch of a European private equity and real estate development team.

 

Kiel's primary practice area is providing general counsel services to small and medium sized businesses. He represents a diverse group of clients in a variety of industries.

He currently resides in Hollywood, FL with his wife Laurie and their dog King.
